Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui has had surgery after collapsing on the pitch with heart palpitations against Aston Villa.

26-year-old was brought off and later pulled out of the Morocco squad.

The injury was concerning, though Mazraoui underwent a precautionary procedure and will now be expected to remain on the sidelines for at least four weeks.

It is not the first problem with the heart for this player, who had been diagnosed with heart inflammation following a Covid infection in 2023.

Mazraoui’s Recovery and United’s Injury Woes

This is a huge blow to Manchester United as they already have several other injuries to contend with.

Mazraoui joins an extensive injury list Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Alejandro Garnacho are also sidelined.

Maguire also confirmed he will miss a few weeks after his injury sustained against Villa.

With Mazraoui expected to return in November, United will hope to have him back as they aim to improve on their tough start to the season.
