Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement with Boca Juniors starlet Aaron Anselmino to lure him to Stamford Bridge this summer, as per the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues have shown their capabilities of signing excellent players in recent transfer windows, however, they haven’t been able to translate that excellence on the pitch.
After finishing 12th in the 2022-23 season, they managed to show some improvement but it wasn’t enough as they ended in sixth position last campaign. So, it was thought that the West London club would be busy in this transfer window to strengthen the squad and they have already started doing that.
Chelsea have already signed Tosin Adarabioyo as a free agent, while Marc Guiu is set to join the club from Barcelona. In addition, Todd Bohley’s Chelsea have signed young talents from South America in recent time as they have already purchased Kendry Paez but Willian Estevao is another youngster who is set to move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea close to signing Anselmino
Now, the Blues are looking to sign another youngster from the same continent with Anselmino emerging as a serious option. The 19-year-old previously linked with a move to Manchester United, but it is Chelsea who are now pushing to acquire his service.
Writing on X, Romano has reported that Anselmino has already reached an agreement with Chelsea regarding the personal terms to join the club and Enzo Marezca’s side are currently in talks with Boca Juniors to seal the deal as quickly as possible.
It has been reported that the youngster has a £21m release clause included in his current contract and Chelsea have already submitted a proposal worth around £14m. So, it remains to be seen how much the Stamford Bridge club will eventually spend to secure his signature this summer.
Anselmino is a ball-playing centre-back and is an extremely talented player. So, he would be an excellent acquisition for the Premier League club should they acquire his service in this transfer window.
Let us know whether you think Anselmino would be a good signing for Chelsea or not.
