Liverpool Women have no fresh injury concerns before Sunday’s match against Arsenal at Anfield, but Ceri Holland will not be ready to return.
Gareth Taylor expects to choose from a similar squad to the one available for the trip to West Ham. The Women’s Super League game kicks off at 12pm GMT on Sunday, November 8.
Liverpool Women wait on Holland return
In his Thursday fitness update on Liverpool’s official website, Taylor said he hoped Holland could get back on the training pitch next week. He cautioned that the timetable before the next international break would be tight.
That followed his earlier club column, in which he made clear that Holland would not be ready to face Arsenal, even if she managed a training session beforehand.
Anna Josendal, Sophie Roman Haug and Aurélie Csillag face longer spells out than Holland. Taylor reported no other new issues as Liverpool prepare to return to Anfield.
More training time for Liverpool Women
Taylor hopes Mari Ward and Lucy Parry can benefit from more work in training. He also pointed to Viv Endemann’s return after time out and said another week of training would move Mao Itamura closer to being selectable.
Those comments do not confirm starts or a final matchday squad. For Liverpool Women, Taylor expects broadly the same group, with the chance for returning players to build up more training.
The fitness picture has moved on since our earlier West Ham team-news update. Taylor’s new comments concern the Arsenal match.
Liverpool have already beaten Everton 2-0 at Anfield this season. Arsenal are their next visitors there, with Taylor looking to respond after the disappointment at West Ham.
