Daniel Farke is in a much better place this summer than last for Leeds United’s head coach.

Even without Crysencio Summerville, the squad appears competent. Leeds have strengthened in most areas, however there are some big gaps that need to be filled such as a new full-back and someone to step into Glen Kamara’s boots.

One of the most intriguing stories from pre-season has been 19-year-old James Debayo.

Farke has put his faith in the teenage talent and given him significant minutes over pre-season, starting against Harrogate Town before featuring in all four games.

However, Debayo (who is a center-back) has turned in some excellent displays and shown versatility on the right side of defence.

But his performances have not gone unnoticed, with Leeds coach Michael Skubala calling him the “brilliant one.”

Left a little short in central defence now after Charlie Cresswell and Liam Cooper departed the club.

Instead, Farke looks set upon keeping Debayo as his fourth-choice center-back heading into the season.

The Bigger Picture for Leeds

Leeds United are unbeaten during pre-season, having won four matches including a win over Valencia.

The team looks balanced and prepared for what lies ahead. While there’s still work to be done in the transfer market, particularly in finding a winger to replace Summerville, the emergence of young talents like Debayo offers hope.

With such a fine history of talented youngsters coming through the ranks, it may be wise for giving Debayo a chance to shine in the first team could be a smart move.

As Leeds fans eagerly anticipate the new season, the story of James Debayo could be one to watch closely.

If he continues his current form, he might just become a key player in Leeds United’s defense.

Leeds United looks well-prepared for the new season, with young stars like Debayo stepping up.

While there are still some gaps to fill, the team seems ready to compete under Farke’s leadership.
