Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly in ‘concrete talks’ to sign Feyenoord star Lutsharel Geertruida this summer, as per the German football expert Florian Plettenberg.
Although Les Parisiens have lost Kylian Mbappe for free, they have saved a huge amount of money and it has been reported that Luis Enrique’s side are looking to invest that to strengthen the squad this summer.
The French giants’ primary objective is to win the Champions League but despite spending a fortune over the last decade, they haven’t been able to achieve that yet.
PSG will be hoping to become Europe’s best despite losing Mbappe next season so they are said to be looking to add reinforcements with Geertruida emerging as a serious option.
Writing on X, Plettenberg has reported that PSG have already opened talks with the player’s representatives to persuade him to join the club and the two parties have been in ‘concrete talks’ in recent days.

The journalist further claims that Geertruida’s current contract is set to expire at the end of next season so Feyenoord are ready to let him leave this summer and are prepared to accept a fee of around £21m.
Plettenberg states that clubs from Bundesliga and Premier League have also expressed their interest in signing him but PSG are ‘likely’ to beat their rivals in this race.
Plettenberg wrote:
“There have been concrete talks between Lutsharel Geertruida and Paris Saint-Germain on player’s side! Understand his move to PSG is currently more likely than a move to the Bundesliga or the Premier League. Price valuation for the 23 y/o right back around €25m. Contract with Feyenoord valid until 2025.”
The Netherlands international is comfortable playing in the centre-back position as well as in the right-back role. He is quick, strong, good in the air, comfortable playing out from the back and also excellent in defensive contributions.
He is a talented player and has showcased his qualities for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie in recent years. So, he would be a shrewd acquisition for PSG to reinforce their backline should they acquire his service.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Enrique’s side can eventually manage to secure his signature in this transfer window.
