Celtic’s Transfer Plans

Many big moves are expected at Celtic in the summer window. They are keen on re-signing Kieran Tierney from Arsenal.

With a £109,000-a-week salary, Tierney would love to come back to where it all began and the feeling is mutual.

Tierney’s Journey

The Scotland defender has played every game for Arsenal this term, following his switch from Celtic in 2019 after 170 appearances for the club.

A central figure in the Hoops’ side over five league title wins, as well as several cups. One of Tierney’s main strengths is his attacking play, with the left-back registering 37 assists since joining the Celtic first team. Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko called him a great player.

Financial Hurdles

Celtic fans are excited about the potential of Tierney coming back, yet there would appear to be financial problems to overcome.

They are considering selling Tierney, though, with Celtic likely to balk at the price. That makes the transfer tricky, but there is still a chance a deal can be agreed.

Other Targets

Celtic are in the market for other players too. They want Paulo Bernardo to stay on a permanent deal after his loan stint.

Brendan Rodgers is considering a £10m deal for Liverpool stopper Caoimhin Kelleher, and the likes of FC Lausanne-Sport winger Alvyn Sanches and Norwich City’s Adam Idah are also of interest to Celtic.

Celtic wish to bring Tierney back but due to cash difficulties, a move might be hard to obtain. The Blues are subsequently making strides to bolster by better promising players too.
