Juventus are reportedly planning to sign OGC Nice star Jean-Clair Todibo this summer, as per the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano

After appointing Thiago Motta as the new manager, the Bianconeri are looking to revamp their squad in this transfer window to hand the Italian boss the necessary tools to achieve success next season.

The Old Lady of Turin have already signed Michele Di Gregorio and Douglas Luiz, while Khephren Thuram is very close to joining the club. In addition, Juventus also want to add a few more new faces with Teun Koopmeiners being mentioned as a key target.

However, it appears Motta also wants a new centre-back ahead of next season and Todibo is on his wish-list.

Writing on X, Romano has reported that Juventus have identified the Nice star as one of the targets to bolster their backline and have already opened talks over this deal.

Juventus interested in signing Todibo

The journalist further claims that Manchester United were also interested in him and were very close to acquiring his service, but UEFA have banned the Red Devils from getting the deal done due to the same ownership issues.

Romano states that West Ham United have already seen a £30m bid rejected by Nice for the defender, therefore Juventus will have to spend a fee more than that to lure him to the Allianz Stadium.

Romano wrote:

“Jean Clair Todibo, one of several names on Juventus shortlist for new centre back as contacts took place in the recent days. Nice already rejected €35m from West Ham, price tag’s higher. Man United are 100% out of the race after deal almost done; blocked by UEFA rules.”

Speculation surrounding the Frenchman’s future has started to emerge as he is ready to leave the French club to take the next step in his career.

Todibo is a ball-playing centre-back and is also efficient in defensive contributions. So, considering Motta likes to deploy a possession-based style of football, the 24-year-old would be an excellent option to play under the Italian boss.

Hence, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Old Lady of Turin can eventually manage to acquire his service in this transfer window. What do you think will Todibo be a good option for Juventus?
