Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a swoop to sign Juventus star Federico Chiesa this summer, as per the Italian outlet Tutto Juve

After being impressed by the 26-year-old’s performances during his time at Fiorentina, the Bianconeri opted to acquire his service back in 2020. The Old Lady of Turin initially signed the winger on a loan deal before making the move permanent a couple of years later.

Chiesa has enjoyed a promising time at the Allianz Stadium as he has established himself as a key player for Juventus. However, after returning from a serious knee problem, he was struggling to showcase his best. But, he displayed glimpses of his old self last season and it looks like he is getting back to his best.

With Chiesa set to enter the final year of his current contract, speculation surrounding his future has been growing ahead of the summer window.

According to the report by Tutto Juve, the Bianconeri could opt to cash-in on the winger to raise funds to reinforce the other areas of the squad if the two parties couldn’t find an agreement regarding a new contract.

Arsenal want to sign Chiesa

The report further claims that Arsenal have registered their interest in signing him and are planning to purchase the 26-year-old by taking advantage of his current situation.

Juventus value their star man at around £34m so Arsenal can manage to secure his signature for a reasonable fee should they formalise their interest. However, the Italian outlet states that Newcastle United and Chelsea are also keen on signing him so Mikel Arteta’s side could find it difficult to get this deal done this summer.

Chiesa is an energetic forward and is comfortable playing in the left flank. However, he can also play on the opposite side and can provide cover for the centre-forward position if needed.

The Italian is a top-class player and could be a great signing for Arsenal if they purchase him. However, it remains to be seen whether the North London club eventually decide to purchase the former Fiorentina star if he leaves Juventus over the coming weeks.
