Best Time in His Career
One of the most well-known football managers, Jose Mourinho said that coaching Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo was the best thing during his professional career.
The two shared a dressing room at the Spanish club from 2010 to 2013. They won the La Liga title in the year of 2012 during this tenure.
Cristiano Ronaldo the most professional player Mourinho ever met. He loved Ronaldo’s hard work, Ronaldo’s dedication to soccer.
Ups and Downs
For the same reason, Mourinho and Ronaldo had some tiffs, despite them being successful. Mourinho advised Ronaldo on improving his game.
Ronaldo, however, was Ronaldo and he felt he had enough knowledge about football. He did not like being told what to do. And as a result, their relationship felt a little awkward.
Mourinho noted that it is simply natural that there will be some clashes between coaches and players. Still, he praised the talents and professionalism of Ronaldo.
It was with the intention of treating things with respect and honesty, of giving a respectful and objective view of good and less good moments that leaves part of his mark, of his fingerprint in the history of one of the best players of all time.
So Mourinho wanted to address his time with Ronaldo, believing that despite certain circumstances, it was still a significant and does not go unnoticed step in his career.
