Dominik Szoboszlai still has a chance of being involved against Brentford, but Liverpool have not confirmed his return from injury.
Andoni Iraola has left the door open for the midfielder, Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak after the trio missed Liverpool’s previous two games. Friday’s training session is part of the assessment before Saturday’s trip.

Dominik Szoboszlai remains under assessment
Speaking at his Thursday press conference, in an update published on Liverpool’s official website, Iraola said it was still too early to give a firm answer.
“It’s early for us to say, we have still tomorrow’s training,” he said. “Obviously, they were not ready for last night [against LASK].”
The coach then made the distinction from his earlier updates. “The same way I said they are not available for the previous games, I leave the chance open this time, yes.”
That applies to Dominik Szoboszlai as well as Gakpo and Isak. It is a possible return, not confirmation that any of the three will be in the squad.

Changes expected in a busy schedule
Liverpool’s trip to Brentford comes fewer than 72 hours after their 6-3 Champions League win at LASK. Another European game, against Villarreal, follows on Tuesday.
Iraola said the schedule meant he needed more players and would have to change his team again. The coach had already made changes for the match in Austria.
For Dominik Szoboszlai, the immediate question is fitness rather than an assumed starting place. The same caution applies to the two forwards being assessed alongside him.
Liverpool’s official update says all three sustained injuries during the September and October international period. Their absence from the last two matches does not, on its own, settle their availability for the next one.
Brentford kick-off and coverage
Liverpool’s official viewing guide confirms a 3pm BST start at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday 17 October. The match will not be televised live in the UK.
Confirmed team news will come through the matchday coverage. Until then, Dominik Szoboszlai remains a player Liverpool are assessing, with Iraola leaving his chance open rather than announcing a comeback.
