Man Utd Ready to Splash £58m on “Unstoppable” Ballon d’Or Star

Recent news has indicated that Manchester United may be targeting the Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman.

Lookman’s age and stature allow him to thrive in European leagues, as evidenced by his previous performances with teams such as Leicester City, during which he has attracted interest from major clubs like Real Madrid and PSG.

Reports also suggest that The Red Devils are prepared to pay the fee required by Atalanta for this particular offensive player, which is set at £58m.

United Eye Lookman for 2025 Transfer  

Lookman has had a brilliant season in Serie A, having scored 6 and assisted 4 in just 9 games.

He has also been in top form during Atalanta’s successful Europa League run as the club won the cup earlier this year.

The quality of his displays saw him finish in the Top 20 of the Ballon d’Or list, coming 14th.

As good as he has been, it seems that a switch to Manchester United in January is out of the question.

Rather, some narratives believe that a transfer towards the end of the season may actually be possible.

Lookman is contracted with Atalanta till the summer of 2026. The case is that after this season, nine months will remain in the contract and thus his transfer price is expected to be in the region of 50-58 million pounds.

Premier League Return for Lookman?  

Lookman is well acquainted with the Premier League where he played for Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City for some time.

While in England, he played 96 games, scored 11 goals, and assisted 6 times. Given his experience in English league, he could suit on Manchester United’s attacking third very well.

Although the newly appointed Red Devils’ coach Ruben Amorim will not have large expenditures in the January window, Lookman could no doubt be a major target window next summer.

United have already spent close to fire this past transfer windows and were joined by players like Matthijs de Ligt and Manuel Ugarte, but the fact that they are currently occupying 13th position on the table indicates that there is still much to be done.
