According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are poised to release their Danish midfielder during the summer transfer window.
The midfielder, who earns £150,000 per week, joined the club from Brentford in 2022, but has failed to get more outings under Ruben Amorim.
His contract, which ends in June 2025, does not have an extension offer on the table from the Red Devils.
Due to Amorim’s system’s demands, the midfielder is not in the immediate plans. Therefore, his chances of getting extended playing time have been few and far between.
January Exit Uncertain Despite Interest
During the summer transfer window, the Spaniard Real Betis made attempts to recruit the player.
However, an agreement was never attained due to disagreements on certain aspects. Whilst January is an option for the Manchester fc, more likely he would be expecting to sign for the club for free after the contract comes to an end.
Further, with the club sitting 14th position in the league and facing some suspension to key players, it is tough for the Red Devils in different games in the league, this provides further impetus and adds a level of urgency to United on making the decision on the midfielder in January.
